How to make your office more print-efficient in 2018

It’s the season of setting goals, so why not aim to be more print-efficient this new year – your office will run more smoothly and increase productivity as a result of that. Assess your current printing processes

Firstly, evaluate your current printing systems and processes and take note of what takes a lengthier amount of time than required, or could be more organised, to decide what to improve. Check that you use the most up-to-date software and hardware, and that they are suitable for the job at hand.

 

Replace the old, move on with the new

Just replacing an old printer with a more modern printing system could reduce time and costs spent printing, and increase the efficiency of your printing processes. Old and worn printing systems can often fail, delay, take up valuable time and cannot be relied on for high-priority, time limited jobs – there’s nothing more frustrating than a paper-jam when you’re in a rush!

 

Reduce colour printing and waste

For a quick fix, reduce the amount of colour printing in your office and set your printing system to default in black and white. Leave colour to the more important documents that require it and you will cut down costs significantly. When it comes to waste, ask yourself “do I really need to print this?” - if there is a document that can be viewed via a computer, then you needn’t produce a paper version also.

 

Condense the amount of outsourced printing – or simply get rid of it!
